Gary leads all tax credit offerings for CRG, including Research and Development Tax Credits.

Prior to joining CRG, Gary was a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ State Tax Consulting Group specializing in state income, franchise, and sales and use taxes. During this time, he performed numerous state tax projects including apportionment, state modification, and unitary studies. He has prepared and reviewed multistate tax returns for multistate income and franchise tax clients. Gary also specializes in state and local income tax consulting, as well as audit representation.

In addition, Gary has extensive experience in providing multistate tax consulting services to high technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, and retail companies. Gary was instrumental in drafting Section 602 of the 1996 Federal Telecommunications Act. This section provided for an exemption from local taxes for direct broadcast satellite providers. He is actively involved in the telecommunications tax reform movement.

Prior to joining PwC, Gary was employed at another “Big Five” accounting firm. During this time, he prepared federal and state income and sales and use tax returns for numerous clients. Gary has also worked as a business tax consultant for a local CPA firm.

Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University and his law degree from Loyola Law School. He has also completed the Institute of Property Taxation’s Sales and Use Tax School. He is a member of the California State Bar.
